Bones On Ice by Kathy Reichs (June 2015)

The remains of a wealthy Charleson family's daughter (Brighton Hallis) are uncovered on Mount Everest.  Her family insist that Dr Temperance Brennan autopsy the remains.  However, Tempe soon discovers that Brighton has been murdered.  This discovery leaves a very narrow cast of suspects, namely Brighton's climbing team.  As usual, Reichs supplies us with interesting facts regarding the various processes used to analyse a body that's been frozen for a long period of time.  However, her greatest skill in my mind is her ability to keep the plot moving with short snappy dialogue and humour.  Thoroughly enjoyed this.

A Bad Death by David Mark
I make no secret of the fact I love David Mark’s books.  They’re always richly descriptive which transports the reader right into the heart of the story and A Bad Death is no exception.  Chronologically, A Bad Death is placed before his most recent novel Dead Pretty (released earlier this year) and continues The Headhunter’s saga from previous books.  It also fills in some mnore of DS Aector McAvoy’s back story.
When on a reconnaissance operation McAvoy bumps into an old ally, it leads to past events linking into a current investigation.
This is an enthralling read but be warned- keep an eye out for your stop or you may just miss it and end up far from work.

Broken Fall by Fergus McNeill

Broken Fall is a DI Harland short story from the author of Eye Contact.  This is a story about greed and love and one detective's dogged determination to do the right thing and leave no stone unturned.  When Harland is faced with the broken body of seventy -nine year old Albert Errington, he is unconvinced his fall was accidental.  As usual, Fergus McNeill has delivered a great story.  Definitely recommended and also check out his other books.

The Deliveryman by Jeffrey Deaver

The Deliveryman is just the thing to whet your appetite for the next full length Rhyme/Sachs book, The Steel Kiss (release date 22nd March).  As usual Rhyme and Sachs make a refreshingly alternative team.  In The Deliveryman,  what starts off as a routine murder investigation becomes a race against time when they discover that the delivery man's 'package' has gone awol.  If you love the forensic aspect of crime fiction this is a mot to be missed short story.Available on Kindle for 99phttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Deliveryman-Lincoln-Rhyme-Short-Story-ebook/dp/B01ARXVUUI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456581351&sr=8-2&keywords=jeffrey+deaver
