Book review Fall From Grace by Tim Weaver - A  great example of a Private Investigator procedural! (If there is such a thing)

This is the first Tim Weaver book I've read but it most certainly won't be the last!

For me, Fall from Grace was one of those books that kept me gripped all the way through as I guessed and second guessed myself to find the link between two very strong storylines told in parallel.

David Raker, widower and ex newspaper journalist, finds solace in working missing persons cases.
However, when he is approached to solve a missing persons case for a Police Officer he is surprised...  when he finds that it's her father Leonard Franks a retired Police Officer with a great reputation, who's missing he is astonished. Raker accepts the case and soon finds himself caught up in way more than he bargained for.
The tension spirals as the investigation into Frank's disappearance (supposedly a man with no enemies in the force and no identifiable criminal enemies capable of making him disappear so thoroughly) who was enjoying a well earned retirement with a wife he loves and an adoring  daughter who followed in his footsteps, results in Raker being beaten up, warned off the case and his own family being threatened.

Be prepared for a shock ending – I didn’t see it coming I wonder if you will.
Fans of Chris Ewan, David Marks and Val McDermid will love this.
