Blog Tour: Review of Future Perfect by Felicia Yap

Image
Wow! I was not expecting such a unique read when I agreed to be on the blog tour for Future Perfect by Felicia Yap. (Thanks to Rachel's Random Resources, Netgalley and Wildfire Books for inviting me to participate)  Future Perfect , as the title suggests is set in the future and it blows your mind. Before I continue with my review, here's the blurb ... Future Perfect What if today was your last day... A bomb has exploded during a fashion show, killing a beautiful model on the catwalk. The murderer is still at large... and he may strike again. Yet this is the least of Police Commissioner Christian Verger's worries. His fiancée Viola has left him. He has to keep his tumultuous past a secret. To make things worse, his voice assistant Alexa is 99.74% sure he will die tomorrow. Moving from snowy 1980s Montana to chic 1990s Manhattan to a drone-filled 2030s Britain, FUTURE PERFECT is an electrifying race to solve a murder before it's too late. Yet it is also a love story,...

Book Review: Where Ravens Roost by Karin Nordin

Image
I think the last Scandi crime novel I read was Will Dean's Black River , but I have to say, Karin Nordin's Where Raven's Roost was as evocative, compelling and intriguing as Dean's Tuva series and I can't wait to read more about Detective Kjeld Nygaard.  But first, to whet your appetite, here's the blurb.  Where Ravens Roost blurb Available here The raven cawed at him, craning its neck unnaturally. As it dug its hooked beak into the mess of dried grass and twigs that made up its nest, a shiny glimmer reflected off a low-hanging bulb. Kjeld edged closer to get a better look. It was a human tooth. Detective Kjeld Nygaard wants nothing more than to forget his family and Varsund, the small mining town he once called home, even exist. But while on suspension after his last case went disastrously wrong, his estranged father Stenar leaves a message on Kjeld’s phone claiming he’s seen a murder. But with no evidence and Stenar suffering from Alzheimer’s, the local poli...
