Book Review: Coffin Road by Peter May, another sensational read by this very versatile author.

Wow, has 2016 got off to a great start in the crime fiction department, with Coffin Road.  When I pick up a Peter May book I always feel secure in the knowledge that I’m in for a damn good read and his latest book Coffin Road is no exception.

From the beautifully crafted opening page full of deliciously visual language right through to the dynamic ending I was mesmerised.

The Flannan Isles
Set between the Hebridean island of Harris and Edinburgh with the occasional sojourn to London, May as usual creates a vividly atmospheric story about the dangerous journey of three people, each with their own agendas.   Coffin Road is about a murder investigation, corruption, self-discovery love and humility.  It is also about the plight of bees.
With characters that in turn evoke frustration, anger empathy
and pity, scenery that inspire a gamut of emotions and a whoppingly scintillating story Coffin Road is unputdownable.  May’s skilful plotting and expert narrative make Coffin road a book not to be missed.
