Book Bloggers in the Spotlight: Today it's book blog Sylv.net in the spotlight
Loving these Spotlight on the Book Blogger posts. It's great to find out a bit more about the bloggers as people. Today I introduce you to Sylvia from Sylv.net
Read on to find out some things you never knew about her ... Now over to Sylv.
What is your blog called and what do you feature on it?
Thank you for the
opportunity. My blog is Sylv.net I am a host to several different tour
companies, where they send through different book related things to share.
I feature different
authors of different genres, either as spotlights, sharing of excerpts, teaser
shares and much more. I also review books during blog tours, and I love being
an ARC reader to the very talented author, Anita Waller.
I started my blog
back in 2012, initially just for me to blog about what I read and watch, I was
a friend to many author, some were still new so I thought I would invite them
to be my guests and before I knew it, my blog was really busy with lots of
amazing authors as my guests.
3. What’s the most enjoyable thing about
blogging about books?
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
meeting new authors, I have made some amazing friends since I started, and I
get to see book covers before anyone else 😉.
Me and my not so little kids
Can you tell us two things
about yourself that people may be unaware of?
Oh this is hard, OK one is that
I am co-writing my first book with my eldest daughter, we are a long way off,
but it is fun working with her on it. It’s a comedy horror.
Secondly, I love watching
‘There’s Something About Movies’ with Alan Carr, Michael Sheen and Jennifer
Saunders and four guests. We sit and watch this every Wednesday night and just
cry with laughter, a much needed family relax time during lockdown.
What is your day job?
As well as a full time mum and home
educating my youngest, I am also an author PA, working with some amazing
authors, marketing their books as well as lots of admin stuff. Although they
are my clients, I also class them as good friends
What is it about Crime fiction as a genre that turns you on?
I love the fast pace twists and turns
that turn into rollercoaster rides, a book that will keep you wanting to keep
reading is always a winner.
If you were to play Snog Marry Avoid using crime writers and characters from crime fiction who would you A) Snog B) Marry and C) Avoid… and why?
Haha, sorry Joe (my partner)
Snog : Daniel Craig
Marry : Michael Sheen (this
would make my youngest very happy)
Avoid : Mr Bean
Anita Waller
Who is your favourite author
and why?
Oh this is definitely hard, I
have a few that I love to read, but as I have mentioned above, Anita Waller is
definitely no1 on my list.
I have been reading her books
right from the start of her writing career, she has written books with plenty
of very strong characters, the storylines are well written with lots to keep
you reading, also she has had me in tears especially her latest two Kat and
Mouse books, but I am always disappointed once I have finished, they just keep
begging me to read more and I just can’t
wait to read her next one.
