Book Review: MJ Arlidge's Little Boy Blue - This thrilling read takes us into the world of Southampton's BDSM community (Release Date 10th March 2016)

If you ever wanted to discover what a Zentai suit, a munch and wet sheets are, then now is your chance to find out.  MJ Arlidge's new DI Helen Grace novel takes her a little too close to the life she wants to keep secret, at all costs, from her police colleagues.  In Little Boy Blue we see Helen Grace at her most vulnerable and find her at odds with even her most loyal colleagues...

At The Torture Room nightclub's  annual ball a man is found
murdered.  His death was slow and tortured and when Helen turns up at the scene she realises she recognises the man.  Unfortunately, revealing this knowledge to her colleagues would put her career at risk, so she chooses to remain quiet.  This puts her on a path that exposes her vulnerability and makes her
even more isolated than ever before.  With the press running amok over the sensationalist murder, Grace, with her 'trust' issues is once more forced to work on her own.
Arlidge writes Helen Grace's character with subtle degrees of light and dark.  His immersion in her character makes her brooding darkness almost tangible.  I've read all the Helen Grace books, but Little Boy Blue exposes Helen to danger, emotional turmoil and divided loyalties more than the previous books.

A must read for fans of police procedurals with an edgy darkness and tough yet sensitive characters, like Sharon Bolton's Lacey Flint series.
