 She walked into the garden.  "Turkey for Christmas dinner, Dear?” 

He lifted the shotgun aimed at the turkey and fired.

The bird fell from her arms seconds before she thudded onto the ground.

He studied the two bloodied frozen carcasses.  “Guess there’ll be no Turkey for me this Christmas.”
