Book Review: Anglesey Blue by Dylan H Jones

Newly returned to his home turf of Anglesey after thirty years with the London Metropolitan police, DI Tudor Manx is faced with unresolved family issues, hostility from colleagues and a series of murders that point to a serial killer on the island.
What attracted me to this book was the setting of Anglesey.
With many fond memories of the island from family holidays with my children, I was eager to revisit some of the beautiful coastline with Dylan Jones and he does a great job of depicting the Anglesey I remember (albeit without the murders).
What I liked most about this book was the way that Jones effortlessly threaded the different elements of the story into a cohesive tapestry. The twists and turns made me laugh, kept me guessing and had me on the edge of my seat. As a character, Manx grew on me so much so that by the end of the book I felt I could happily go for a drink with him. I love it when an author creates a warts and all character that seeps into your blood and , in Tudor Manx, Jones has done just that.
A highly recommended read!
